January 12, 2007- The Karat Patch online received an invitation (and accepted same) to join the ranks of POWERSELLER on the eBay auction and sales site.  PowerSellers are eBay top sellers who sustain a consistent high volume of monthly sales and a high level of total Feedback --with 98% or better positive rating by other eBay users.  Sales at The Karat Patch online rose 24% in 2006 over the previous year, and this increase is credited with the invitation having been extended.  The Karat Patch online, an eBay store maintained by The Karat Patch in Big Spring, Texas was launched in the fall of 2005 to give the company an online presence by which people could view the work of jewelry artist/craftsman Jay Phinney, and other inventory made available by the store.

February 10, 2007- The Karat Patch and the Howard/Glasscock County Chapter of the American Cancer Society in Big Spring, TX held a raffle with a drawing which took place at half-time of the Howard College Hawks basketball game to benefit the local ACS Relay For Life event.  The Karat Patch donated a Citizen Eco-Drive mens watch to the raffle which raised more than $100.00 through the sale of $1.00 tickets.  Pictured are Jay Phinney, owner of The Karat Patch (right) and raffle event winner Robert Wilson.
